Mahindra Thar was available in a total of 19 variants earlier. However, with the removal of convertible top variants, AX 4WD variants, and LX variants with an open difference, this number is now reduced to 11. This variant rizing also means that the entry-level X trim will be available only in RWD, which is paired with a 1.5-liter diesel engine. It should be noted that despite removing the selected variants, the overall value limit of Mahindra Thar remains unchanged. Its price continues from Rs 11.50 lakhs, with the price of top-speed 2.2-liter diesel LX in the Earth version 4WD is topping for Rs 17.60 lakh.
