BMW’s cheapest EV comes with a battery of 66.4kwh, claiming that there is a 531 km range.
BMW A two-wheel drive, long wheel version has launched Ix1 electric SUVOfficially, a very attractive east-showroom price of Rs 49 lakh is called IX1 EDRIVE 20L. We have now subjected to locally assembled IX1 LWB to our real world range test, and the results are as follows.
- IX1 LWB has 204hp, front-mounted electric motor
- We tested it in ‘Eco’ Drive Mode in ‘Adaptive’ with Regen Breaking Set
- Its real -world border is 430 km in the city and 372 km on the highway
BMW IX1 EDRIVE 20L Real World Range
The BMW IX1 LWB packs a 204hp, 250nm electric motor that sends electricity to the front wheels. It draws electricity from 66.4kwh batteries, such as the anterior dual-motor, 4-wheel-drive IX1. BMW claims that the IX1 LWB can run 531 km at full fee.
For our range tests, we fired the SUV in our most efficient ‘Eco’ drive mode and set regenerative braking on ‘adaptive’, which allows the system to feel the need and when for both recurrence and coast for both. It uses a combination of sensor, navigation data and driver’s input to determine the amount of coasting and region.

The IX1 LWB returned the efficiency of 6.48 km/kwh in our city cycle and the efficiency of 5.60 km/kwh on the highway, translated to 430 km and 372 km range respectively.
Autocar India’s range testing
Prior to our real world range test, our test car batteries are fully charged, and we maintain pressure from the manufacturer recommended by the manufacturer. The car is operated in a certain loop in the city and the highway, and we maintain some average speed. Finally, we calculate the range depending on the percentage of consumption. During our testing, climate control is set to 22 ° C, fan speed is set on auto, and we use other electricals, such as audio systems, lights, and ventilated front seats (if equipped), when necessary, as is a regular user. We are proud of our testing data, which is not only consistent, but gives users an accurate indication of what they can expect in the real world.
