Kia Carrens Clavis Review: Career Gon Upmarket – Introduction

Caren is also updated with a new look, more features and a suffix. Can Clavis take forward what Careers started?

Kia has rebuilt Carrence for 2025, and instead of calling the model a facelift, it has given it a new suffix called ‘Clavis’. Because Kia wants to give a situation key More than cars, and cores, in its current repetition, will remain on sale, although in a low trim. But with a modified design, additional features and even a manual gearbox for the turbo-petrol engine, can Clavis take the heritage forward?

Kia Carnival Key External Design & Engineering – 8/10

Looks fresh and the big 17 -inch alloy

Like cars, clavis also sits on the K2 platform, and there is no major change in dimensions. Marginal growth in length is caused by the reprimand bumper that is now sharp and unbroken. The honest design for the face has also resulted in a slightly increased bonnet, but the overall silhouette remains recognizable. The front has an impure-matel trim designed to look like a bash plate and adds a touch of rub, but the most recognizable change is the new LED headlamp. The casing is all new, and fast day -run lamps are spread over the bonnet and bumper. The headlamps are stacked in an ice-cube style, such as on the cirros.

New triangular headlamps are the most recognizable updates; The front bumper has a unbroken form.

On the edge, alloy wheels now have a 17 -inch large units with a sharp double tone look, and this is now helping the MPV look more proportional. Like the front bash plate, there is an impure metal panel with doors, and cladding tries to give it an SUV look.

There are subtle changes in the rear, such as stop lamps are integrated into a spiiler and new inserts for tail-lamps combine two loops with a thick LED bar. Some more brushes add metal insert bling, and the cores badge now has a focus. Overall, the design has refreshed the look, and a new ‘Ivory Silver Gloss’ paint shade has added some premium appeals.

Large 17 inch wheels get double tone finish.

Kia Carnival Key Internal Location and Relax – 8/10

New dashboard with more features but location as before

The dashboard is modified with a panel sandwich like a cloth between the beige-end-blue theme. What is dominating on the double 12.3-inch screen set on the same panel, which gives it a spontaneous look.

The center console is a low-bottom modified HVAC setup, which now features a touch-sensitive panel in top-spec trims. The panel also doubles as media and communication functions, but it is not easy or easy to use. Reflection is an issue, and on this step, you accidentally kill wrongdoings. It is very easy to use physical buttons on the lower glasses. Practicality is also good, with two cup holders, to keep the drink cool with the vent, there is a wireless charging pad and a cubbbi hole under the front armrest.

Switchable HVAC panels are not easy or easy to use.

As before, the front seats are ventilated, but the driver’s seat has a power adjust facility with manual adjust for height. On the top-spec trim, the leather is the upholstery beige, while the lower trims get a dark upholstery that is very easy to maintain.

The middle row can be done under the cover of 6- or 7-seats. Since wheelbase has not changed, space remains the same. There is enough knee and headroom, but sliding seats allow for more space. The new change is a double-fruit panoramic sunroof, which opens the cabin, and yet, there is no compromise on the headroom. AC vents are removed over the windows and are much more effective. The top-spec version also features foldable trays and an air purifier. Sun blinds are another plus point, and is a boss mode that enables rear passengers to carry forward the front seat to open more legrooms. Ingresses and Engras are also very impressive since the seat height is comfortable.

The middle row location remains unchanged with regular caran; Panoramic sunroof allows more light.

It is a bit easy to join the third line. Now thanks for the one-touch tumble and fold feature on the left seat. Once inside, there is enough space for two adults, and since the middle row is adjustable, one can find a comfortable place. With adjustable headrests and seatbelts, the rear has AC vents and USB ports.

The third line has enough space for two adults.

With three rows, the Carrence Clavis gets 216 liters of boot space, which is sufficient for at least four soft bags. Tallies and suitcases will be banned depending on their size and size. If the third line is not required, you can flatly fold it to open more space, and there is also an additional wheel below the car, with some space below the boot floor for the tool. Carrens Clavis scores well on packaging and practicality, and with new feature additions, it has only become better.

Kia Carnival Key Engine and Performance – 7/10

Many powertrain options give buyers a variety to choose

Consuction Clavis has an option of three engines – a turbocharged petrol, a naturally aspirated petrol and a diesel – and several six gearbox.

We fired turbo-petrol in manual and DCT Guiz and Diesel Automatic, as naturally aspirated engine is available only in low trims with manual gearbox. The 160hp 1.5-liter turbo-patrol with a 7-speed DCT or 6-speed IMT is the same as we saw in cores, but in Clavis, there is also a 6-speed manual choice.

The 1.5-liter turbo petrol is refined, but does not excite with performance.

What is good about the engine is a refinement and it is a sufficient attack in low RPM. He said, you will not feel any bounce or enthusiasm because the power distribution lives gradually. The engine raises speed of at least as 1500rpm and is a strong but linear bridge after 2000rpm. 4200rpm is the place where the bridge ends and if you push it forward on the redline, there is only a thick sound that does not lead to much progress. The best way to use it is to say it is safe to keep it in mid-range. The manual gearbox allows you to remove the maximum from the engine. The clutch is light and progressive with a bite point that is not suddenly. The gates are also well defined and it offers more driver engagement.

The 7-speed DCT with turbo-petrol is smooth at crossing speed, but not in the city.

On the other hand, the 7-speed DCT is smooth only at cruising speed. In the city, it is not as comfortable as you will expect to be a DCT and there is something hesitant to reshuffle between low gears. The DCT version has drive mode and the game is the place where the reaction is most clear. You also have the option of shifting using padleshifers that are good and you can also slot the shifter in manual and use it as tiptronic – although it will not be satisfactory as a paddle. Drive it with a sedate leg and DCT will offer progress without any left leg stress.

116hp diesel is an old and tested engine with brilliant hovering capabilities. Certainly, it is not responsible or quick, but once it attains the speed of the highway, it can settle in the 6th gear and cruise throughout the day without any complaint. Where it struggles when you want a quick overtake. Just do not grunt enough and takes some time before the automatic downshift and lends the help that helps. On a hard section with a car loaded with passengers and luggage, it will stick like a thumb around a throat. In addition, clavis is a front-wheel drive, so steep slopes require more effort and here is where diesel mill year for more power.

Trying and tested 1.5-liter diesel can cruise throughout the day without any complaints.

The purification is another area where diesel returns, especially under acceleration. There is a thick diesel drone and a lack of drive mode means that there is no way to change the performance. Although it will do very well, it maintains 15–16kpl efficiency (mid-display), so diesel can be a better option for those who ran for kilometers.

Kia Carrens Clavis Ride and handling 7/10

Small 16 -inch wheels on diesel offer better rides than 17 inches on petrol

The 17 -inch large wheels on panoramic sunroof, ADAS and petrol models have a slight return for additional weight. Nevertheless, the ride is soft with only a sign of firmness on low -speed bumps. In speed, clavis feels applied and this only happens when you show it to some corners where the body roll removes some stability.

Clavis has a gentle ride and a feeling planted.

Diesel is better here because small 16 -inch alloys get a large tire profile that helps to absorb bumps. At the same time, small section means that the body roll is even more clear and you need to relax around bending. We did not get a chance to test it with full-load, but it is safe to say that with comfort driving etiquette, Clavis is certain on the road.

Kia Carrence Clavis Facilities and Safety – 9/10

Lots of new additions on regular cautions

The dual 12.3 -inch screen runs the UX/UI with a cellos, which is clean and smooth. The screen accountability is good without any interval, however, wireless Apple Carplay and Android Auto are very much missed. What is noteworthy that low-spec versions with a small 8-inch unit receive wireless connectivity. A 360 degree camera is a new addition, and there is no gap.

New adas features work well in our irregular traffic conditions.

Similarly, a 12.3 -inch digital cluster is crisp and can change the theme based on drive mode. For safety, level 2 is also adas, which is Venus, can be closed manually. When left, it works well and a good part is that our irregular traffic is a proper buffer for conditions. Blind spot monitoring, lane keep assist and rear cross traffic alerts are particularly useful. Clavis also has a new steering wheel, such as seen on Siros. The size may take some time to use, but it gets tilt and binoculars adjustment.

Kia Carnival Key Price and Decision – 7/10

Many variants and overlap can confuse buyers; Expect an important collision on Caren

Kia has not yet disclosed pricing for clavis, but with additional features, you can expect an increase between Rs 50,000 – 1.2 lakhs on the basis of variants. Furthermore, as we knew that it would continue on sales in only one trim and an engine option, which we believe will be for the fleet operators.

Clavis makes for a sensible package with a good dose of desirability.

To do yoga, Clavis is a good update for Caren as it has added some very essential features and modernity while maintaining strong points such as many powertrain options and practicality. It is a sensible package in which a good dose of desired is sprinkled and now for all the remaining kia to pay it to the disintegration. We hope to touch Rs 21 lakh from DCT and all bells and whistles with top-speed turbo-petrol. But significantly it is pricing for middle variants that will be interested in the public. They have done hard bit well, and have only numbers that they now need aika. Given the history of Kia, there should not be any concern about it.
