VW Tiguan R-line review: Is its price 50 lakh rupees? – Introduction

A fully imported VW SUV has come up with a comprehensive list of upgrades in India.

Before hot anticipated Golf GTI Makes it for India, Voxwagen Has launched Tiguan r-lineIn the past, we have done it with a diesel engine, then three-row Tiguan Alpace came and finally returned to be five-seater with a petrol engine. The new model comes in the form of CBU (fully manufactured unit), receives 2.0-liter, 204hp TSI engine, five-seat layout and a tag of Rs 50 lakhs. This is a unique offering, but is it worth money?

VW Tiguan R-Line External Design & Engineering (8/10)

Outgoing Tiguan longer and comprehensive than SUV

Where the previous tiguans were all angular, the new one embraces a curve and bold lines. Diply, it is tall and wider, but the wheelbase becomes as before and now it is short in terms of height. The front gets a simple and clean form with the matrix LED headlamps, which is at the top with a DRL strip that increases the width of the car. The bumper lower down in the bumper low down is black out for the channel air around the car and the treatment for large air dams is black out. Also a chunky chrome strip adds some bling in an otherwise sporty look below.

Matrix LED headlights are bridged by a closed grille, which also has ‘R’ badges.

The side has dual-tone 19-inch wheels that look sporty with gloss black wheel arches. There is two sharp creases on the shoulder line and a chrome bandage around the windows. It gets 176 mm ground clearance and roof rail to add some height to the look. However, it remembers the entry without a key.

At the back, the IQ LED tailmps stretched from the end to the end and the honest design gives it a specific SUV look. No exhaust tips here seem to have an omission for R-line, but it gets some more chrome. Overall, it is a specific design for VWS. Restrained but widely acceptable.

VW Tiguan R-line interior space and comfort (7/10)

Buttonless dashboard, 15-inch touchscreen

In addition to the steering wheel in Tiguan R-line, there is a completely new interior, which is ‘R’ on the steering base and shares a lot with 2.0 cars. The layout is simple and minimal and as a result the dashboard is completely button free. Only the physical button center is low on the console where you have an electronic parking brake, the engine starts and you have a knob that you can touch and change the press settings from volume to drive mode.

Minimum interior with most functions in touchscreen.

The remaining features are largely included by 15 -inch touchscreen. Good news UX UI is very simple and unpublished. The menu and tasks are comfortable and despite the climate control on the screen, it is not complicated. What it misses is a 360-degree camera, which is a feature available on cars in a very low segment. In addition, the resolution for the reversal camera is poor and in the dark it struggles for clarity.

The screen is otherwise smooth, wireless connectivity and even many subjects are accompanied by ambient light. In terms of overall quality, it is a bit of a mixture. While the build is good and on the top half of the dash and you have a soft touch material with exposed stitching, the lower half gets hard scratch plastic that takes some of that premium ridges away. The features include a flip open cubbi hole that reveals two wireless charging pads with two type-C ports. Below is more space and then it gets a large cubic hole again with two cup holders.

Manual control to adjust the front seat; The adjustment of wood is electric.

In terms of comfort, sports seats are very comfortable and receive great support with broad bolters and even many massage tasks. Cold seats are missing and instead it has seat heating, which will be useful for buyers in the north once every year.

Although Big Miss is the absence of electrical control for seat adjustment. In 2025, it is simply unacceptable to adjust seats on SUVs worth Rs 50 lakhs manually. The adjustment of the wood is electric, but everything else requires the hand to move in the hand.

Space is good, but no repetition for backrest is some rest.

Since the wheelbase is similar to the previous version, the location in the rear is good for two adults. However, the high transmission tunnel with the Protooding AC vent means that the middle traveler will have to suffer. Some robbing rest, it is an honest backrest that cannot be made again. The seat may proceed to open the room of more accessories, and the center is open for easy access to the boot. However, the headroom is impressive despite the characteristic of a nayabhiram sunroof.

652-liter boot; The seats can be flipped down and slip forward for more rooms.

According to practicality, the Tiguan r-line has a huge 652 liter boot with a space saver spare wheel below the boot floor. The seat is also flip switch but an electric tailgate is missing.

VW Tiguan R-Line Performance and Prevention (7/10)

204hp-2.0-liter TSI engine; Takes 0-100KPh 7.1 seconds

Volkswagen tiguan r-line powertrain space
engine 4 Sillas, 1984cc, Turbo-Petrol
Power 204hp at 4,500-6,000rpm
Torque: 320nm at 1,500-4,400rpm
Gearbox 7-speed dual-clutch auto
Drive layout Front Engine, AWD
0-100kph 7.1 seconds

Powering Tiguan R-line is a 2.0-liter TSI engine that excludes 204hp and 320nm and is placed in a 7-speed DSG gearbox. Performance, however, there is nothing to boast about it. Power delivery is linear and lacks punch, especially under the Reve range. 0-100kph is a respectable 7.1 seconds, but the overall drive will not stimulate you. It gets drive mode and ‘Sport’ provides some more curiosity, but there is not much to look forward. It is filled on highways.

The 204hp engine is refined but lacks the bottom punch.

However, what is good, there is a response from paddle shifters. Even though the gearbox does not have gear up to the 7,000rpm redline and upset around 6,000rpm, you can control the appropriate amount of change, especially during the downshift. And on the subject of the redline, there is not a sweet exhaust note to speak. Instead, the engine looks thick in high RPM so that it increases slightly quickly.

VW Tiguan R-Line Mileage (7/10)

12.58kpl (claimed by Volkswagen)

VW claims 12.58kPls according to European approval methods and has no ARAI figure yet. However, this cylinder receives inactivity which means two of the four cylinders may be automatically closed to save fuel. Once we get the car for a longer period, we will keep it through a proper fuel efficiency according to autocked test standards.

VW Tiguan R-Line Ride Comfort and Handling (8.5/10)

The new DCC Pro System adjusts soaking soaking in real time

While Paurtrain is relaxed and baseless, which is very impressive is riding and handling. The major contribution here is DCC Pro (Dynamic Chassis Control), which can accommodate soaking based on various factors. It works basically and you can see the difference between stifer sport mode and soft comfort mode. On a curved section with smooth asphalt, the suspension takes into account the surface of the road, steering angle, and even the throttle position, takes into account the soking. It remains flat and is made through the corners and once the road gets bumpy, firmness is exchanged with greater absorption.

It is fun to run in Twiste, mainly thanks to adaptive dumps.

According to the mode, the character also changes, the steering is heft. It is comfortably lighter and frightening and weighs in the game. Add well to the bolt seats, and the overall experience from the back of the wheel is better on a ghat section. The level of the grip is very good of the 4motion AWD system.

VW Tiguan R-line facilities and security (7/10)

Panoramic Sunruff, Level 2 ADAS

There is a lot of kit on Tiguan R-line because it is a CBU. It provides matrix LED headlamps, 19-inch wheels, wireless Apple carplay and Android auto, a panoramic sunroof, front seats, three-zone climate control, warm seats, 9 airbags and levels 2 ADAS. What it misses, ventilated seats, an electric tailgate and an electric adjust to the front seats.

VW Tiguan R-Line Price and Decision (6/10)

What works for this is the ride and handling balance, which is thanks to DCC

For 49 lakh rupees, Tiguan R-line is expensive what it provides. The engine is not very exciting, some features are missing and providing rivals such as Skoda Kodiak and even the Audi Q3 provide better value and brand strength, respectively. Tiguan has what is on its side riding and handling and slightly specialization because it is a CBU and you will not see many out on the road. For small pockets of buyers who do not require an additional row of seats and do not care about the badge, Tiguan R-line is worth checking an SUV.
