Booking for the upcoming Volkswagen Golf GTI Will begin on 5 May, with the price declaration at the end of this month. Golf is one of the most prestigious nameplates of VW globally, and will be brought to India for the first time in full import – no less in GTI imagination. This will be VW’s second GTI-Bad model in India; Earlier, it brought 3-Dore Polo GTIBeing full imports, it will be expensive, and prices are expected to cross the Rs 50 lakh mark (ex-showroom).

Booking can be specially done on the website of Volkswagen India, and it will only open for a limited period. Delivery will begin in June from select dealerships across India.

More powerful than a mini cooper
India will have 265hp, 370nm, 2.0-liter turbo-petrol engine in India, added to the 7-speed dual-clutch automatic gearbox that sends power to the front wheels. It also gets an electronically controlled front-axle differential lock. Volkswagen has claimed a 0–100kph of 5.9 seconds for Golf GTI, with the top speed electronically limited to 250kphs.
As a performance hot hatchback, golf GTI will sit in a place in itself. for reference, Mini Cooper S The only model that comes close to GTI in terms of performance. It is powered by 204hp, 2.0-liter turbo-petrol engine and is less practical due to its two-day configurations.

Surely a Volkswagen, the latest golf GTI is a save-dated hatchback and has the required sporty cuse, courtesy of 18-inch alloy wheels, GTI badges and twin exhaust tips in the rear. It also finds a unique five-tukra light element that emerged neatly on the dual-tone front bumper, and LED DRL exits in the headlamps and grills.
Volkswagen will offer golf GTI in four color options in India: Grenadilla Black Metallic, Orex White Premium, Moonstone Gray Black and Kings Red Premium.

Share internal features with tiguan r line
Inside, Golf GTI will share a lot with a recently launched Tiguan R line in India, including a 15-inch central touchscreen and a 10.3-inch all-digital instrument cluster. It will also get sports seats with GTI-SPEC steering wheel and GTI branding. The prestigious Tarton seat upholstery seen on the International-Spec model will also be available on India-Spak Golf GTI.
As already mentioned, India will have the only rival Mini Cooper S for Golf GTI, which is currently priced between Rs 44.90 lakh and Rs 55.90 lakh (ex-showroom). Volkswagen is believed to import 250 units of golf GTI in the first batch.
