KTM stops production again within six months
Brand is suffering from capital and lack of components
Earlier this month, we told that KTM recently resumed production At its Metigofen plant in Austria. However, after managing only 4,200 motorcycles, the brand has once again stopped production, effective from 28 April. This is due to the disruption of the supply chain, resulting in the lack of components required to continue manufacturing.
There is a shortage from the ongoing insolvency proceedings launched by the company in November. As a result, KTM employees have not been authorized to order components from external suppliers. Some suppliers have stopped production of KTM components, which are expected to collapse the brand. Others are facing financial difficulties themselves, partly due to their dependence on KTM.
The CTM supply chain extends to dozens of countries – from Eastern Europe to China. The delivery time in Asia has also been delayed since the Kovid crisis, sometimes one takes one year after an order.
In addition to preventing the production, the CEO of KTM announced that the company would implement a 30 -hour workwack from May 1 to July 31, as well as wedge cuts. This remedy is to avoid further trimming.
