Audi, AudiEV Sub-Brand in China demonstrated its E5 sportback in Shanghai. The E5 Sportback is the first production model from Audi and is based on new underpinings developed with SAIC, MGThe German car maker started its EV assistant in 2024.

300hp-787hp; 100kwh battery pack
With output of 300hp, 408hp, 578hp and 787hp, there will be four electric powertrains on the offer. The range-topper has a four-wheel drive and it has been spoiled by the Quattro, while the entry-level EV uses a rear-mounted motor, the autocar UK, informed our sister publication. For 0–100kph acceleration time, the most powerful E5 version does it in 3.4 seconds. Audi has claimed a maximum range of 770 km on the Chinese test cycle with 100kwh battery pack. Thanks to 800V ultra-fast charging, the battery can get up to 370 km in only 10 minutes.

‘Audi’ lettermark replaces the four-ring symbol
Preview by Audi’s concept Last year, the E5 Sportback Production Model is largely correct for the original design. It swaps the traditional four-ring symbol of Audi for an ‘Audi’ lettermark, and has a much minimal look. A functional black loop surrounds EV’s front and rear section, and house lights (including matrix headlights), sensors, air curtains, and radar.

Dashboard does not get physical buttons
Inside, the 27-inch 4K resolution display spreads the entire width of the dashboard. There are no physical buttons and most of the car controls are accessed by this wide screen unit. It runs on the Audi OS and the customized screen layout ensures that significant information is always preferred in the touch-level menu, which facilitates Swift navigation through touch gestures.

The car is equipped with the Audi 360 assisted driving system with a laidar unit on the roof, three long -range radars, 12 ultrasonic sensors and an array of cameras, providing autonomous driving capabilities in the city and on the highway.
