Second generation Skoda Kodiak Recently, it was launched in India, with prices between Rs 46.89 lakh and Rs 48.69 lakh (East-Shorroom, India). At first glance, it may look like just a facelift, but it is actually a new model with evolutionary styling, the new interiors of the brand with too much features as well as an update powertrain. Let’s look closely how the second-Gy-Gy Skoda Kodiaq compare its predecessor.
Skoda Kodiaq New vs Old External Design
Evolutionary design update
The face of New Kodiaq resembles its preceding, thanks to the massively divided headlamp system. However, it now gets the new LED day -time running lamp signature that expands into the grill in a fragmented style. Grill has grown in itself, while the bumper now gets a cleaner look, which has either large functional air vents on the shore. The bonnet is also more sculptural and looks more muscle than before.
Skoda Kodiaq Front Quarter
Slightly tall, but the wheelbase remains unchanged
On the side, alloys remain 18 inches in size, but now get a new aero-oriented design. However, the new Kodiaq recalls on the fast character line that defined the side profile of the previous model; Instead, it looks too round, with soft edges. However, there is a new D-Pillar Garnish that creates a rapraound effect for the glasshouse. The wheelbase remains unchanged at 2,791 mm, but the overall length is up to 59 mm.
The rear of the new Kodiak sees more notable updates than the front, with a light bar tail-lamps connected by a light bar. The rear spiiler now has a deeper holiday, and the bumper gets two-tone silver and black finish instead of chrome garnish on the first-jewelery. As before, the sportsline version is marked by a separate design for black-out elements and alloy wheels.

Skoda Kodiak Interior and Features
Very high premium and feature-pack
While the external style is definitely evolutionary, the interior gets a completely new dashboard with a winged design. The interior also sees a notable step in terms of materials used with wood, leather and soft-touch inle on dashboard and door pads. The use of ambient light strip just below the central screen beautifully complements the cabin.
Speaking about, the central touchscreen has become much larger in size-13 inch-and now is a free-flotting unit rather than integrated into the dashboard as compared to 8 inches on the back Kodiaq. It also packed in too much functionality. Meanwhile, the gear selector has been transferred from the center console behind the steering wheel, and this has helped to vacate the space for big cup-holders and two wireless charging pads as well as more storage.

Some physical controls are maintained
Thankfully, Skoda has retained Kodiaq’s signature three rotary dials for the HVAC system, but they vary in functionality, now also doubled for volume and drive mode control.
Somewhere else, the 10 -inch digital instrument cluster no longer has a hooded binnacle, but has been fully updated with more modern features and graphics including navigation feeds. A two-spoke steering wheel looks familiar, but now it gets ‘Skoda’ lettering instead of the Skoda logo. Additionally, the front seats now get a massage function on the L&K trim, while the sportline trim gets sporty bucket seats.
Skoda Kodiaq Poortrain and suspension
Slight collision in power
Under the hood, the new Kodiaq continues to be powered by 2.0-liter, four-cylinder turbo-petrol engine that produces 204hp and 320nm torque. Compared to the anterior, the power figure is above 14hp, although the torque remains unchanged. The 7-speed DCT transmission and standard all-wheel drive system have also been moved to the new Kodiak.
No adaptive suspension
However, there is an important mechanical update, or its lack-Nay Kodiak does not get the DCC (Dynamic Chassis Control) system that was introduced with the previous-gene-codiyak. The DCC was essentially an adaptive suspension system that adjusts you for ‘comfort’ or ‘sport’ mode for suspension.
