- System introduced to avoid repeating 2023 Qatar GP
F1 Cooling Vanth: How does it work?
The cooling vest includes a 50 -meter tube, through which the cool fluid is transmitted. The FIA originally planned to make its use compulsory when the environment temperature crosses 30.5 C, in a bid to avoid repeating 2023 Qatar GP Where many drivers were affected by excessive heat. Logan Sergeant had to retreat from the race after suffering from heatstroke, while the lance also passed briefly.
Although the vest in 2025 is still alternative, many drivers have expressed concern about the device that the cockpit is uncomfortable in the tight boundaries. Given the extra weight that comes with wearing a vest, any driver who chooses to not use it, needs to carry an additional 5 kg of ballast to avoid getting any benefit.

Russell used cooling vest during Bahrain GP qualifying and race
Hamilton was surprised when it was reported that vest was used during Russell Bahrain GP Enroute to finish another place. Hamilton replied while talking to the media in Saudi Arabia GP, including Autocard India, “Oh really? I would be surprised if you have done this, because you have to add a five kg car to the car and no one will be there,” Hamilton replied while talking to the media in Saudi Arab GP.
It is understood that Mercedes was able to compensate for additional weight by adjusting ballast that it usually used. However, Hamilton has said that he will focus on better preparations before the race.
The seven -time world champion said, “I have only run two races in my career, where it is like Malaysia. Our first year in Malaysia, the drink machine did not work. So, I was just dehydrated at the end of the race. And Singapore was very cruel last year. But I think,” said the seven -time world champion.
“We are going to be the highest highest in terms of athletes and need to be difficult. If anything, it is easy to drive cars compared to today, when I start in Formula 1 and they are too heavy. I don’t want to use it, if I can avoid seeing it.
Hamilton said, “I think it is difficult and we do not want the drivers when we go to Qatar, where I think (we have) a race that was extremely hot for the drivers, which I really excluded from the crashed (Ka), so I think it’s good that they are not in my car, but not for me what I want, but I don’t want to do it.”
