Mahindra and Mahindra Officially inaugurated its new design studio in Mumbai today. Called Mahindra India Design Studio (MIDS), it is located within the Kandivali plant of the company and is a major update for earlier convenience, which was established in 2015. The company says that the new studio has doubled in size and homes, which is more than just one hundred design employees.

Mahindra India Design Studio: What is for this?
To serve both commercial and private auto divisions
The upgrade is designed to complete Mahindra’s growing portfolio of its auto business as well as support its new businesses such as its final mile mobility (LME) division. MIDS also has the ability to design its last mile commercial vehicles and small tractors in brand trucks and buses. It also includes three modeling plates, one of which is sufficient to handle the truck cabin. A modeling plate is a work area, on which the 1: 1 scale clay model can be made using 5-Xis modeling robots and skilled modelers.
Speaking to Autocar India at the inauguration Ajay Saran Sharma, the vice -president of the design and the head of the mids said, “The convenience includes all the design works which are also necessary for quality, internal quality and tech HMI design today”.

Mahindra says that Mids will work with Mahindra’s global design center – Mahindra Advanced Design Europe (Made)Located in Britain.
Talking to Autocar India at the inaugural Pratap Bose, Mahindra’s chief design and creative officer said that “the two centers will be present and will work together, but I am happy that with this investment in design in India, we can attract and keep talented designers in an India automotive company”.
The design center also has a paint shop for clay models and car panels, which Bose says that the design team also saves time for management that may come for early review.
